7800 as Fabric Switch

Hi Guys

Normally Brocade 7800 is used as FCIP but I would like to use it as a fabric switch between HP C7000 Blade Enclosure and storage arrays.

I would like to connect few ports on Brocade Blade switch directly to storage array and have few ports connected to Brocade 7800 as NPIV. ---------- Is this possible ?

Hi,

the 16 FC Port in 7800 are Universal Port, and can be set / used as Standard E and F Port properly.

Yes this work, however as fair as I remember, the First Quad Port Group "Port 0-3" when the port was changend from EX_Port to E_Port, NPIV with some FOS was not supported.

I believe this Restriction as be Solved / Removed in FOS 7.x
