Re: Switching from Interoperability mode 1 to 3

That is correct, when I did a dry run earlier, it prompted me to change the InterOp mode.

If I change the McData switches from OpenFabric mode to McDATA fabric mode, and change the Brocades to InterOp mode 2, I should not have any segmentatin issues, correct?

Re: Switching from Interoperability mode 1 to 3

Yes, McData Fabric Mode and Interopmode 2 works as well.

But if the McData switches are running in Open Mode, I would not change. It is an offline change (no reboot, but you have to disable the switch). And you have do to it in the whole fabric.

The only feature change on the 4700 is that you can use Port zoning (what is normally not used today because of features lke NPIV or FCR) and the Default Zone (what is not recommended at all).

So then I should leave the MCDATA at OpenFabric mode, and just change the InterOp mode on the Brocades from 1 to 3? This will not  break any connectivity?
