Possible to Split the Fabric

I have one 48K Director with four 48-port blades installed, two of the blades are presently in use while the remaining two will be used for the consolidation of 2 32-port 4100's.  One area of concern is the need to split the fabric for redundancy purposes.  Seeing that I don't have a second 48K, should I take this out of consideration or is there a way to split it?

Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Possible to Split the Fabric

One option can be to run the 48K as one fabric and the two 4100 as a second fabric. All your servers which are connected to both fabrics need a multipathing software and then you can take the advatage of having a dual fabric design. Yes it looks not very nice but it will work.

This is good in case of firmware updates but difficult to manage.

I hope this helps. If you are satisfy please mark it as answered.

Best regards,
