Connect HP Blade center with Cisco 9124's to a Brocade DCX4s

I have an HP blade center with CISCO 9124's that I am trying to connect to a Brocade DCX4, so I can zone disk storage to the Blade Center. Is there a special process, or settings that I need to configure on the DCX4 or the 9124 to get an ISL between the two devices? Is there a specific VSAN interop mode, or any other settings?

These don't seem to have plug and play ability.

Configure the Cisco in NPV mode, connect blades as NPIV devices in the fabric.

You need to do the following steps:

1. Validate in your DCX that NPIV is enabled (you can enable it on entire switch, or on port basis) by command:

portcfgnpivport --enable 10/47

NOTE: By default- in FOS 6.4 and later NPIV is enabled for entire switch.

2. Configure the Cisco to be NPV switch (my advice is to backup the switch before doing it).

To configure the switch as NPV use the following commands:

conf t

feature NPV

3. Configure Cisco external ports as NP ports.

4. Connect the Cisco to DCX.

Please note that you have additional issues as port mapping, failover/failback policies, pwwn zoning and more.

Let me know if you need more information about it.
