Brocade Silkworm 3800 - VxWorks based - Password Reset

Hi All,

For a small testlab system i recently got some de-commisioned SAN storage (IBM Storage) and a Brocade Silkworm 3800 SAN Fibre Switch. However i have run into a wall trying to login to the Brocade switch. To do some reconfiguring i need to login to the console or the web interface, and for both i need the passwords. The previous owner does not know the password anymore.

I have been going through a gazillion results on Google to find something on this. I tried the list of all known passwords i could find:

  • root fibranne
  • root fibreanne
  • root fiberann
  • root Fiberanne
  • root password
  • root default
  • root Serv4EMC
  • admin fibranne
  • admin fibreanne
  • admin fiberann
  • admin Fiberanne
  • admin password
  • admin default
  • Admin password
  • factory fibranne
  • factory fibreanne
  • factory fiberann
  • factory Fiberanne
  • factory password
  • factory default
  • factory Fact4EMC

What i know so far is

1) The Brocade Silkworm 3800 is VxWorks Based - OS Fabric is 3.2.1c

2) It is very very old and EOS/ EOL

3) There is a so-called PasswordRecovery image, but this can only be given by Brocade (and i expect that will be difficult with an EOS/EOL product and no active warranty anymore)

Does anybody have any hints or tips? or is somebody of Brocade perhaps on this forum who is willing to help me?

Thx in advance!
