1020 CNA - No ethernet connectivity

We have a HP DL380 G7 server running Windows 2008 R2 and connected to a Cisco Nexus 5020, configured for both SAN and Ethernet access.

We experience an issue where if a server is rebooted the Brocade HCM software shows both the fibre and ethernet links active, in the network connections of the server the link is up, and on the nexus the link is up.  However we are unable to access the server over that ethernet link and are unable to ping the IP address configured from another machine on the same VLAN.

The only way to get the link back active is to either diasable the NIC in HCM and re-enable or disable and re-enable the interface it is connected to on the Nexus.  If you do a ping -t to the configured IP address you see no response after reboot, and then response once the card/port are re-enabled.  The fibre channel side does not have this issue.

Does anyone know how we can resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance

Re: 1020 CNA - No ethernet connectivity

I'm not familiarly with Nexus, but would suggest to verify:

1) you have correct SFP / or TWINAX Cable in a case you use Copper cable.

2) CNA is correct set / Bios and Firmware

3) and finally, the Port on Nexus is correct configured and Up.
