we do this to some extent with ISL/trunk groups, but not to the level of OS. if you just have the single 48k as your production env, then i'd group your hosts with the devices they use on the same blade as much as possible. this will help your performance out. other than that, it doesn't really matter where you plug things in if you're zoning on wwn.
