Could be, as mentioned try to adhere these basic rules:

- as simple zoning as possible (aka as few criss-cross connections as possible)

- optimally 4 paths per target, one per fabric per controller

- if multipathing gives trouble, you can reduce to 2 paths (especially for active-passive storage, this might help)

If you have issues like mentioned - one MPIO works, other does not - you need to dig into root cause which is usualy MPIO stack-specific.

Sometimes just re-zoning resolves the issue (welcome to black magic ).

Here is where point-to-point zoning helps as it gives nice visibility and ability to enable/disable specific paths for troubleshooting.
