How to connect the 1 GB FC with 8 GB FC of SAN 5300 switch

I have an old IBM TS 3500 tape library which needs to be connected with Brocade 5300 switch through FC. Problem is that this old tape library's drives are 1 GB and my switch has 8 GB FC connectivity. How can I connect this TL with the SAN switch.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi, 4GB SFP supports 1GB. 8GB does not.

See Brocade Optical Transceiver Modules and Brocade 5300 Switch for details.

A physical connection in one thing. But speed differences is another thing.

Keep in mind that 1Gbit devices zoned with 4/8Gbit devices can cause problems. This looks like a high potential for a slow drain device. If you see later in production discards than investigate at these 1Gbit devices...
