I have heard some reports about Broadcom's site having issues with special characters in names. Perhaps you're running into that. You might have to call Broadcom's support to get that web site access issue resolved.

Subject: "The update server could not be resolved" error when checking for Fusion upgrades.
Here's a very weird one for me. I can get to the link fine, navigate to the Fusion page with 13.6.3 and early versions. When I attempt to download the package I am asked for some additional verification. It asks me to put in my address, which I do, but then it fails because my last name has a hyphen in it. I can't progress beyond that point. I can't even update my name on the My Profile page.

Here's a screen shot of what you should see by using the link I posted and logging into the support portal:

There is no resolution to the update server issue -- it is unlikely that Broadcom will return the capability to Fusion or Workstation given their changes for authenticated access to product updates for their other products. (I could be wrong, but from what I'm hearing I don't think so).
As far as downloading Fusion 13.5.2 through 13.6.3 (the only versions available), what links are you trying? The link I posted earlier https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/free-downloads should enable you to see the categories for all the free downloads available from Broadcom (such as Fusion, Workstation, and VMware Tools) once you log into the site with your Basic support portal account.

The Mac version still fails to appear on any of the links shared. I sent a message via X to both Broadcom and Broadcom software two days ago and it's gone ignored. I also emailed Richard over at Macintouch and while he's received some helpful replies from his readership, none have been able to pinpoint the problem of located up-to-date builds nor resolving the update server issue.
What gives?

In case you need a shortcut to access the free downloads section of Broadcom's support portal, use the following link:
https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/free-downloads
You will need to log in using your Broadcom Support Portal account to access these downloads.

This question has been asked frequently enough that it warrants its own topic.
Since approximately 01-Apr-2025 any attempt to check for updates within any Fusion version is met with the following error message:
"The update server could not be resolved."
This error message is caused by a change in Broadcom's policies. Broadcom is now requiring users to have a product entitlement (that is, a subscription) to access in-product updates. If a user doesn't have a subscription to a product, in-product updates for that product will not work. Broadcom made changes to the software update servers to enforce this new policy.
The error message displayed when the menu item VMware Fusion > Check for updates... is selected is due to these changes to the software update servers. A statement by Broadcom confirms that the in-product update feature is no longer being provided for Fusion users. Fusion does not have subscription entitlements, so there's nothing to validate access against.
The current workaround for users wishing to upgrade Fusion is to download installation media for Fusion 13.5.2 or later from Broadcom's support portal and run the installer to upgrade Fusion. .
Since in-product update notification is no longer provided, to determine if there are new versions of Fusion, you can:
Broadcom is aware of this issue, but has not stated when or if in-product upgrades will return to Fusion. A future Fusion update will likely be required to return in-product upgrades or provide in-product notification of new Fusion versions.
Note that this new policy has also eliminated the access to any Fusion version prior to 13.5.2. Unofficial workarounds that described how to access the software update infrastructure to obtain no-longer-supported Fusion versions no longer work.
