  • 1.  vSphere 5.1 registration

    I installed on my Proliant ML 350, Vmware ESXi 5.1  build 1065491 (customized HP iso)  which and I retrieved from site; I installed vsphere 5.1 but it's necessary product registration as I was trial time, I remember this product is free.

    Can you give me suggestions ?!?! I made mistakes ?!

    How can I retrieve this code please?

    Register for the free Hypervisor at https://www.vmware.com/go/get-free-esxi and then follow the steps "Licensing a standalone ESXi host" in http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2014295

    Thank you very much for your precious help but when I tried to insert license key I got "it's already registred".

    I tried to create new vmware account and at this url https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/evalcenter?p=free-esxi5&lp=default

    I'll retrievs license key into "VMware vSphere Hypervisor 5 License" section but with the same result, where I 'm doing mistakes please ?!

    Register once again in VMware download portal and get the license key. You do not need to download the binaries again.

    Where did you try to register the key? You don't need (cannot) register the free license key in the "My VMware" portal. Just use the key you received and license your ESXi host using the procedure I mentioned above (i.e. using the vSphere Client).

    I'd like to remember you I downloaded Hp customized ISO of ESXi 5.1 U1 and I installed it, then I got vSphere 5.1 by https://<hostname of me ESXi host> by click on "download vsphere client" and I installed it on my pc.

    When I run vSphere client I clicked on "help", "vmware on the web", "register now"... I.E. is opened at https://www.vmware.com/account/secure/productRegistration.do and I typed "the license key" which I found according to the following steps:

    I tried to open this link "https://www.vmware.com/go/get-free-esxi, which a.p. has indicated,  page is redirect to https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/evalcenter?p=free-esxi5&lp=default

    Then I recreated new VMware account on myvmware and I can see in 'License Information' section the license key.

    Perhaps I have to download vSphere 5.1 from vmware site? I want to say the same site where I retrieved license key.

    Excuse me a.p. I read only first section of document but after your message I read carefully document you suggested me, so I solved my license problem.
