  • 1.  Getting Started with vCSA: vSphere Cluster Services (vCLS) VM

    Posted Jan 24, 2024 09:12 PM
    • I've created three ESXi nodes. And I've installed the vCSA onto the first node.
    • I've configured a cluster in vCenter. And I've added all three hosts to the cluster.
    • I've not configured vSAN or any shared storage. And the vCSA has consumed almost all of the RAM and nearly all of the local storage on the first node.

When looking at the inventory of hosts: I see that the vSphere Cluster Services (vCLS) VM has been created. However: It's not able to start because "No host is compatible with the virtual machine."

What might be causing this failure? Is it a lack of resources on the host? Is it the lack of shared storage? Or is it something else entirely?

    TIA,

you need shared storage to use a cluster in general to begin with. Why did you create a cluster?

    Hello,

You may have to create a cluster even without shared storage to use a KMS (external or native) and therefore have the possibility of adding a vTPM object to a virtual machine in a "simple and immediate" way.
