CA Client Automation

Hi everyone.

I have installed RVI agent and I set up a collect task to have a remote virtual inventory. And now, It is appearing a error message "Process creation failed for remote agent." . See at screenshot bellow:

I created a user service, and I set up access on vCenter.

Dou you have any suggestion to fix this error?

The last error was 12:56. Follow TRC_AMAGENT_0.log bellow:

Hi, did you check the file (amvminvux.exe) exist under ...\CA\DSM\bin on computer where the RVI was installed?

The message seems to indicate the file was not found: (2) The system cannot find the file specified.

I have installed (by IDW - infrasctructure deployment wizard) RVI agent, but I can't find 'amvminvux.exe' file in "D:\Aplic\CA\DSM\bin" (in the beginning, when I installed ITCM software, I use a different folder (not standard, I installed in  "D:\Aplic\CA\DSM\bin").

But now I found 'amvminvux.exe' file in “C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\bin”. I believe that IDW install RVI agent on default (standard) local folder (“C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\bin”).

I think that is the error. DSM Explorer is not find 'amvminvux.exe' because It is looking for this file inside "D:\Aplic\CA\DSM\bin” and not in “C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\bin”.

Any suggestions?

Try copying the amvminvux into the C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\bin

To get it working try copying “C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\bin” to “D:\Aplic\CA\DSM\bin” and see if it works.

Now it is working!!

I just copy the folder (and files into the folder) bellow into "D:\Aplic\CA\DSM\bin”.

I am glad its working. You should open a support issue for the rvi agent  installing in the wrong location.

This is a known issue with the 12.8 RVI package in DSM Explorer (haven't tested it on 12.9). The RVI binaries always install to the default C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\bin. Obviously doesn't work if you have changed the folder path during the original SD/AM/RC agent installation. There is a fix for the package available from CA.
