Retrieve Values From Read Only Field to use in Javascript

I am doing a customization in Change Order detail form in Service Desk. There
I have many fields set as read only and I want to get the values from them to
be saved in Javascript variables and then execute a code to validate them according specific conditions.
When I am in the form where I see the read only fields, the values are not filled in the variables.
Is it possible those the values are not available when they are in fields as read-only? I changed the read-only textbox to a regular and the values are saved.

I need this as soon as possible.

Pablo, can you give some more details? Like how you retrive the field value to the local js variables etc. I did a quick test on detail_chg.htmpl form,
and for log_agent("created by"), I inserted this:
alert("$args.log_agent");
in the loadActions() local js function and was able to see the uuid of the log_agent, though log_agent is used as readonly field. Thanks _Chi

Hello Pablo,

I second Chi - more details would definitely help, especially for customisation issues where time is of the essence - they are tricky enough at the best of times.

This post could benefit from showing screenshots of what you have and where you want to go, for example.
