Hi,

Does anyone know how to disable the Classic GANTT. We don't want to use it in modern tasks module.

best regards,

Hi Pekka,

Currently, the only way to not allow users to use the PPM Gantt is to remove the access right 'Project - Schedule in Browser'.

However, that also controls the actions to 'Autoschedule' and 'Create Tentative Schedule' in the new user experience.
You can consider proposing an enhancement to the current design through our Innovation program.

Thank you for this, it was exactly what we needed!

Hi,

Coming back to this after a while; does anyone have any idea why this is not working for us. It seems that the rights restriction does not do the trick... We can still open GANTT view (in Classic) from projects -> project -> tasks and edit tasks' schedule.

Hi Pekka,

I apologize! I must have answered this from 'memory' and did not remember it correctly.

You are right, there is no way to 'disable' the link to open the PPM Gantt from within Classic or from Clarity NUX (the new user experience).

If you don't have that 'scheduler' access right, it prevents you from doing any 'tentative' or 'autoschedule' changes, but does NOT control the access to the Gantt.

Having the ability to turn it off is a good idea. Please get it logged, and if other customers like this idea and it gets voted up, we can do something to control it.

Once again, I'm sorry that I provided incorrect information to you.

Kathryn Ellis by no means a secure way of doing it but as a dissuasive mechanism, what about modifying the UI Theme to hide the button in Classic where available.

Hi,

We ended up creating a filter that empties the GANTT chart and inform the users that the usage is disabled. Thanks for the replies!

HI Pekka,

Thank you for the update. As a Clarity Product Manager, I have taken this 'use case' into consideration and perhaps in an upcoming release we will have something to allow the administrator to hide that action for accessing the PPM Gantt. I feel it would be a good enhancement. If there is anyone else interested in this idea, please log an Idea on the Innovation site and 'talk it up' on the weekly office hours.

Thanks!
