Hi to all members of the community.

Is there a way for the user of Clarity On-Prem to export the Project WBS

and Schedule to a MS Project readable format (XML and eventually older MPX) ?

Is this also feasible for for the user of Clarity SaaS?

It is clarified from Broadcom support that:

To generate an MS Project XML file, a Microsoft Project client is required and there is currently no other way round this.

Hi Dimitris,

If you have MSP, you can use the MSP integration to export the project from Clarity to MSP and from there, save it in any format that MSP supports.

While loading the project in MSP, the MSP integration also saves the project in XML and MPP files in your Documents folder, but these files may not be retained. Check the following KB article to configure the integration to keep them (the XML file can also be imported to MSP):  XML, MPP and MSP logs for troubleshooting MSP issues

I hope this helps.

Thank you Marc for your prompt answer.

What if the user does not have an MS Project installation and wants to export the MS Project XML and send to external for collaboration?

Can it be exported from Clarity Modern Experience? Both In SaaS? or On-Prem?

Could it be done alternatively out of Clarity Classic somehow?

Let's imagine a setup with tenths of users not having access to any form of MS Project,

which would require additional licenses to be procured by the way.

The XML gets exported by Schedule Connect and the MSP integration, which requires an MSP installation to run.

You may want to suggest this use case to Product Management in their Innovation Panel calls so that this is considered for an enhancement in a future release. More info on joining these calls: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?articleNumber=143934

Thank you Marc for the suggestion. Is a very good idea and I will do.

The need fulfills a real use case from the construction industry where project schedules are interdependent and exchanged.
