  • 1.  Vm wont Power Off, (esx host shows as being powered on) - Also Pid keeps changing?

I have followed all docs.  How do I get the right PID?  The below command outputs a different Pid each time......

    ps auxfww | grep -i servername.vmx

You could kill the world using esxtop.

    1) Connect to your host via SSH and use the esxtop command

    2) In esxtop, press V (case) to view the VM's

    3) Then press f for fields and add LWID (Leader world ID) by pressing C one time. Then enter to go back to esxtop.

    4) Press k and give in the LWID to kill

    5) After a few seconds, the VM should be killed.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, I have tried everything.  I do not see the vm listed in esxtop V.  I see 4 out of 5.  I cannot get the world id either - it is not listed.   Now what?

    Can you reboot the host?
