    Dear Community Member,

Community Ideation has been an invaluable channel for sharing ideas that matter to your business, enabling you to help shape our product's direction. While we continue evaluating the ideas previously submitted in the community, to foster greater engagement and improve traceability within our R&D process, we're refining this approach.

Starting November 15, 2024, the Automic Workload Automation community ideation page will be stabilized. New idea submissions will be streamlined to better address your enhancement requests and ideas into our R&D while providing an improved channel for feedback on your suggestions through the enhancement request process. Moving forward, please connect with your account team-including solution engineers, customer success managers, and account directors-and/or Broadcom Support to share your enhancement requests and ideas. We appreciate your continued partnership in shaping our product direction.

Thanks for the update, @Kaj Wierda.

Could you please explain what you mean when you write that the ideas page will be stabilized, and that new idea submissions will be streamlined?

Kaj has not responded yet to my request for clarification, but now that the deadline he mentioned has passed, I have confirmed my suspicion about the meaning of his remarks. Below I offer my translation into plain English of Kaj's announcement.

Starting November 15, 2024, the Automic Workload Automation community ideation page will be stabilized.

Translation: Starting 15 November 2024, Broadcom will disable submission of new Automic Workload Automation ideas on the public Broadcom Ideas Platform.

New idea submissions will be streamlined …. Moving forward, please connect with your account team … to share your enhancement requests and ideas.

Translation: Customers should email new enhancement requests to their contacts at Broadcom.

It is unclear how Broadcom expects this change to increase customer engagement. But to be honest — at least since the acquisition by Broadcom — the company has treated the public process as more of a nuisance than a serious channel for customer engagement. Shutting down new idea submissions is a tacit acknowledgement of this fact.

@Kaj Wierda, please correct me if I am incorrect in my understanding.

@Michael A. Lowry  -   @Kaj Wierda and his team are working to streamline ideation.   To that point, anytime we have a new acquisition, our current platforms are reviewed to swap to one of the incoming platforms.    We may see some very good changes in 2025.   Thanks, Jason McClellan, Platform Admin

Maybe related: I heard rumors that some of VMware's internal processes and tools were likely to be adopted more broadly within Broadcom following the acquisition.

I shall hope for the best. 😉

Stabilized: we will no longer accept new submissions via the community ideation system, but will keep existing ideas there and update them accordingly.
Going forward enhancement requests should be submitted via Broadcom support or, if you are managed by a Broadcom partner, submitted to Broadcom support via the partner.
Updates on your enhancement requests will be communicated via the support ticket(s).

We can and will of course continue our direct interactions to fully understand new or existing enhancement requests.

    Hi @Kaj Wierda,

If a consequence of the "streamlining", is that all the good ideas are not visible to the rest of the Community to comment on, vote for, interact with and inspire other customers, then I think it's a bad idea...On the other hand, the old ideation process didn't work either, so what is there to loose...

Let us hope that the ideas will be public again soon.
