Kaj has not responded yet to my request for clarification, but now that the deadline he mentioned has passed, I have confirmed my suspicion about the meaning of his remarks. Below I offer my translation into plain English of Kaj's announcement.
Starting November 15, 2024, the Automic Workload Automation community ideation page will be stabilized.
Translation: Starting 15 November 2024, Broadcom will disable submission of new Automic Workload Automation ideas on the public Broadcom Ideas Platform.
New idea submissions will be streamlined …. Moving forward, please connect with your account team … to share your enhancement requests and ideas.
Translation: Customers should email new enhancement requests to their contacts at Broadcom.
It is unclear how Broadcom expects this change to increase customer engagement. But to be honest — at least since the acquisition by Broadcom — the company has treated the public process as more of a nuisance than a serious channel for customer engagement. Shutting down new idea submissions is a tacit acknowledgement of this fact.
@Kaj Wierda, please correct me if I am incorrect in my understanding.
