What is the license status of this? Solaris 10 is available at no charge, but requires an entitlement obtained through registration; can this appliance be used without registration? (Does Sun know about this?)

when I try to use this. Does it support the AMD dual core chip?

Hello,

When they system is booting select > Solaris Failsafe

When you get the prompt to auto update boot archives select y

when you get the prompt

cd /

ls

we are looking for a file called reconfigure if it is there then

/usr/sbin/init 6

if it is not there then

touch /reconfigure

/usr/sbin/init 6

This should reconfigure the system to see your AMD processor.

Ok lets see if we can force it to reconfigure /devives and /dev

This makes sure the file system is read/write

mount -f ufs -o remount,rw,nologging /devices/ramdisk:a /

Commands to reconfigure dev and devices

/usr/sbin/drvconfig

/usr/sbin/devlinks

/usr/sbin/disks

/usr/sbin/ports

/usr/sbin/tapes

/usr/sbin/audlinks

/usr/sbin/devfsadm -C

init 6

Hopefully this will force picking up the AMD processor.

I can not get to this link to download the .rar file. I only get "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." when using my browser and Filezilla shows an initial connection but failure to establish a session using the supplied logon info. Is there anywhere else to download the file from directly. I do not want to install BitTorrent on my workstation.

move down to the line start with "kernel", press e again

add " kernel/unix" and press enter

Recently I´ve made download this file three times but unffortunatelly this three times I´ve received the msg that file "Solaris 10 (experimental).vmdk" is corrupted althought the others one (inside the .rar file) is OK.

Anyone have had the same problem too ?
