Moving ESXi License from 6.5 to 7.0

How to Move the current Installed ESXi 6.5 License came with pre-installed factory deployed Vmware to be upgraded ESXi 7.0 U3 Dell Poweredge Servers

Each major ESXi version requires licenses keys for that version.
Please see whether your licenses have been registered in a VMware Customer Connect account. In doubt, reach out to the vendor.
If the licenses had an active subscription at the time when ESXi was released, you should be able to upgrade these keys within the portal at no additional cost.

Yes, if you have an active subscription, you can simply contact your VMware account team and ask for upgraded license keys, we have recently done this.

We additionally used the divide and merge license feature, as during the transition, we were running both vSphere 6.7 and 7.0 in parallel

If you have licenses in your customer connect portal, you can upgrade directly from the portal. But in your case it's a factory installed, in this case you have to open a service request and the support team will upgrade the licenses for you.
