GA Announcement Pan/SQL 2.6

Dear Easytrieve and Pan/SQL customers,

We are pleased to announce the general availability of Pan/SQL 2.6. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products.

 

This new release will allow you to utilize the latest functionalities across the main databases to optimize Easytrieve programs and reduce the time required to process a query or prevent data loss.

When implemented, you should recognize several benefits including:  

• Streamlined installation using z/OSMF Portable Software Instance (SMP/E PAX still available too)
  
  

• Simplified configuration using z/OSMF configuration workflows (Sample JCLs still available too)
  
  

• DB2 improvements

  • Added support for the new SQL commands for DB2 IDAA statement, allowing you to gain high-speed processing on complex DB2 queries

  • Built-in support for processing Big Integer (BIGINT) fields as 8-byte binary fields

  • Avoid binding unrelated packages thanks to the DB2 VERSION(AUTO) pre-compiler option

  • DB2 v13 and Multiple SSID configurations support

 

• IDMS improvements

  • Support for native SQL commands and Retrieval access for IDMS

  • IDMS Cursor Isolation Level enhancements improve data integrity and performance
    
    

• Stay up to date with All maintenance PTFs since previous releases for improved user experience
