  • 1.  Filtering of events within vcenter Client

    Posted Nov 18, 2012 02:25 PM

    Hello

    We are experiencing LUN latency within our Vmware Environment which we need to monitor to conclude what the issue is.  We are using PTRG to monitor our host and network to see what is causing the issue.

    The problem, when ever PTRG logs in and out of our host as root it in logged as an event within our vcenter client.  Is it possible to filter what is shown/displayed based on IP address.  We would like to stop the displaying of the PTRG server when it logs in and logs out from our hosts within the vcenter events so that we can still see latency events when they occurre.

    Bellow is how the even is shown and I woul like to filter this out or stop it showing with in the event of vcenter client

    User root logged out
    info
    18/11/2012 03:26:40
    hostname
    root
    User root@ipaddress logged in
    info
    18/11/2012 03:26:40
    hostname
    root

    Any help of suddentions would be most helpfull

    You can filter events, but since this is generally to catch an event rather than exlude an event it might be easier to export the events to CSV, open them in Excel and use filters to find the exact data you're looking for..

    Filter events;

    Export Events;

    Thank you for your reply,  but it still does not show my latency messages even when I export the events or filter as per links.  Below it what I see in the events within Vcenter console, but when I export or filter it does not show up. I have exported to CSV, text and HTML but nothing
