  • 1.  Email routing for business continuity

    Hi

I wanted to know if nayone has explored the use of Symantec.cloud email security as a means of establishing a backup email service. i.e. if all of the email for mydomain.com inbound and outbound is routed via Office 365, and you wanted the ability to have a subset of users be able to switch to an alternative (Gmail say), is that something that EMail routing rules can enable?

    Thanks

    Hi Steve,

While not a backup option per se, through the use of Data Protection you can route emails to different locations. Ie route emails addressed to particular users to a Gapps address/MX. The default inbound routes would list O365 as the main priority and Gapps below it. Then you'd create a "named route" so that you can use it in data protection. And you can either maintain these user groups manually or automatically via the sync tool.
