Good afternoon, Mainframers! I want to inform you about some changes coming to the Broadcom Mainframe Software Communities in the coming weeks and months.

After reviewing our current community landscape and discussing current and future plans for each of our product lines, we're going to combine some communities, retire some others, and breathe new life into others.

For any communities that we're going to retire, we'll make announcements in those individual communities. The ones that we're working to revitalize, I hope it's obvious when we're doing it.

The two main projects I want to make sure you know about are the consolidation of all of our Mainframe-security-related communities (Auditor, Top Secret, Trusted Access Manager for Z, etc.) into a single community named "Mainframe Cybersecurity & Compliance." We will also be adding additional topics/products to this combined community, including Mainframe Security Insights and Advanced Authentication Mainframe. The consolidation of several product-specific security communities into one consolidated community will enable members to engage more easily on overarching security topics and gain the benefit of a larger audience. All of the content from the legacy product communities will be migrated into the new one.

The new combined community will be based on the current ACF2 community, so if you'd like to make sure you're a part of the new community, now is the time to join the ACF2 Community.

We will also be re-naming our Brightside Community "COBOL Development & Testing" and merging content from our File Master Plus, InterTest, Optimizer/II, and SymDump communities into the new community. We will also add new topics to the new combined community, including Code4z, Test4z, and Zowe. This will provide the opportunity for members to engage in discussions on the capabilities of the modern mainframe developer experience (DevX) that are delivered via the Mainframe DevOps Suite. Join the Brightside community now to make sure you're a part of this!

I'm waiting to hear from our platform vendor when these consolidations will begin and how long they will take. When I learn more, I'll share!
