Hi Laura,
Thanks for this. I did originally consider ABND3001 3001 to be the
correct
error message for this problem. However after checking the DMCL, doing
the
DBAN, etc, I questioned whether this was the correct error code, and
hence
ended up looking at the Major & Minor status codes.
Still at a loss to know whats wrong here.
Mike.

Is page 6738 (page group 0) within your DMCL?

Re: Print Index Utility - DBIO Error 3001 Function 1
"Hi Mike,
You have to look for the definition of the 3001 abend code:
ABND3001 3001
Reason: An attempt to map a database page number to a file has failed. A
logical database page
number has been generated for which no associated file description can
be found in the DMCL
tables. Check that all necessary areas are copied in the DMCL tables.
Module: IDMSDBIO
I hope this helps,

Hi all,
I'm doing a ""PRINT INDEX ... etc ... LVL 0 TERSE"" in order to count
orphans. All of the jobs have worked fine, except for one which after
printing the Total SR8s, it finishes with DBIO Error 3001, Function 1.
(See below)
TOTAL SR8=16499
Status = -4 SQLSTATE = 60002 Messages follow:
DB002300 C-4M353: DBIO Error:3001 Function:1 Page:0:6738
Its not clear what exactly is wrong. We have run a DBAN, and everything
looks okay in the DBAN output. I assume that the Page ""6738"" is a relative
one, as in the DMCL for this Area, the page-range is 1700001 thru 1775360.
Also I could not find a list of DBIO Functions; eg: what is '1'?
In the ""CA-IDMS Messages and Codes"", Vol 4, ""Status Codes"" we see:
- Major Code 30 = XCTL/LINK/RETURN
- Minor Code 01 = An area has not been readied, or an IF operation has
determined that the set is not empty or that the current record of run
unit is not a member of the set.
Q: Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with this, or what we should
try in order to diagnose it further?
Thank you.

IDMS R16 and Webservices
"Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have any experience setting up Webservices on the Mainframe
using IDMS database? Any information on what needs to be done to accomplish
this or where I can get more information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Prince.

Re: IDMS R16 and Webservices
"We did a ""proof of concept"" study to look at the feasibility of Web
Services on the mainframe. Started with the ""we can use TCP/IP we'll
write our own"" and approach and quickly moved on to 3rd party products
after taking a look at the SOAP specifications and when we discovered
the protocols and hand shaking and parsing that are involved if you go
there.
One of the products was Z/Services from DataDirect (was then Neon
Systems) - I reckon from a technology point of view they would be the
best bet if you're trying to get code reuse of your IDMS applications.
There is a user here in Adelaide who seems to be making good progress
from what I've heard on the grapevine, and I've seen presentations (at
IUA and CA-World conferences) by a very large county in the US about
their use of the product and they seem to be going very well also. For
what it's worth that's my experience with Web Services and IDMS.
HTH - cheers - Gary
