online display of job accounting info

Who ever wondered which batch job is preventing an area from going
online? Or, which cics transaction is holding an area in update mode ad
nauseum? Who's looked at PMRM and started cursing because it displays
everything except what you need to know, like the JES jobname and user
id on the job card. What good is the program name that did the bind
run-unit to operators who want to cancel a problem job? In the past,
I've impressed those around me by reading the ERE in hex. But, this is
2007, there's got to be a better way. My question, finally, is, does
anyone have a home grown program that wil display useful information,
like, jes/cics userid, area name, update or retrieval status, and jes
job name? Also, the start-time of the job would be nice. Except for
the information from the ere memory display, all of this info is
available in various dcmt commands, oper, and other stuff, but it sure
would be nice to have one source of intelligent information on one
    screen.

    IDMS 14.1 and z/OS 1.4 Compatibility
    "Gene,

We upgraded to z\OS 1.4 and IDMS r15 more or less simultaneously roughly
2 years ago. I seem to recall that the z\OS upgrade went in first and
since I can't recall any problems, IDMS r14.1 must have worked OK.

However, I don't want to belabor the obvious, but neither piece of
software is supported by its vendor. We were a little late getting off
z\OS 1.4 and couldn't get support from IBM for a number of issues until
    z\OS 1.7 was installed.

IUA Connections Summer 2007 edition now available for download
"Go to http://www.iuassn.org Access ""Archives"" then ""Connections""

At CA-World last April I took on the task of restarting publication of
""IUA Connections"". The last issue came out about 26-27 months ago -
after some false starts we are back in production. Attached is the
result of pulling together content from contributors all across the US,
Europe, and Australia. The Desktop Publishing was done by Becki Shaw who
has been living in England for many years - but is currently in Atlanta,
Georgia. The whole operation was coordinated from Adelaide (South
Australia). That's life in a ""well wired world""! Here's what Judy
Kruntorad had to say after she saw the Summer 2007 issue of Connections:

    ""Gary,
Nice job! .....<snip>..... This publication offers significant value to
    the IDMS customers.
    Congratulations!
    Judy

    Vice President
    CA IDMS Product Line Manager""

I hope that you do find some value from the issue, and that you will
share it with many others in your respective organisations so that they
too can get value from the work that has been done.

    Cheers - Gary
