The problems I have had is they say that they have put a commit in the
program but did not use a commit all, which releases all locks and of
course all currency. I have used system limits on some dev regions. I
don't know of any white papers on commits but we tell them to use a
counter and do a commit all after so many records. The size, number of
journals, and syslocks also come into the equation.
