    I need to run JREPORT=8 with BFOR and AFTER image record selection and a
    specific DBKEY selection. The syntax I am using below is not correct
    for the DBKEY selection, but I have not been able to determine the
    correct syntax. The syntax is accepted by the CULPRIT report, but I am
    fairly certain it is not correct.

    The JREPORTS section in the CA-IDMS/DB Journal Reports manual shows an
    example using field name DBKEY-A, but this field does not exist.

    Please, email me the correct syntax if you have it available.

    JREPORT=8
    SELECT ( TYPE EQ 'BFOR' OR TYPE EQ 'AFTR' )
    * AND ( DB-KEY EQ 16007102 )

    Thank you,

    One of the most important items in it is that the price of new IFLs,
    zIIPs, & zAAPs has been reduced on the z196 machines. Additionally, for
    the first time, you will need to pay an upgrade fee to swap your current
    specialty engines to the new machine. But because it's so much faster,
    it's still cheaper in $/MIPS when you upgrade. These prices make it more
    important than ever to move as much work as you can to the specialty
    engines.

    Re: Area options in a subschema
    "If you are talking about when the READ would be ALLOWED or NOT at run-time - the answer is pretty straight forward. ANY EXCLUSIVE MODE means just that - the READY will not succeed if there are any other run units active in any mode - the UPDATE/RETRIEVAL I believe just impacts lock processing - although in EXCLUSIVE there shouldn't be much need for that? The Cobol Programmers' Guide has a matrix that shows which ready modes can process concurrently and which can't.

    There is also somewhere in SYSGEN something to do with the number of times that an EXCLUSIVE READY will get ""bumped"" - that is it tries for EXCLUSIVE but somebody else is in there - and before you get in yet another run unit gets in with a compatible READY - and so your request gets ""bumped"". It's a bit obscure but it is there if you look for it.
