    All,

    I would like to trigger an event when a job goes overdue.  I believe that if I can do this, then I can have that event do whatever I want it to do with the job, tasks etc.  The particular use case that I have in mind is an Windows  job that has been timing out recently.  Since it is a cyclical job, I would like to force it complete once it has been running for a certain amount of time. I have been trying to create a variable based on the sum  of REALNOW and OVERDUE.  If this value reaches a certain ammount, then an event gets triggered with some variables passed in $USER1 and $USER2.  However, I have yet to get it to work.  While I prefer to do this at the job level, I have only been able to get ESP not to "complain" about the variable unless I move it to the application level, so currently it looks like this:

    MAXRUNTIME = 5

    DUE = ('REALNOW + MAXRUNTIME')

    IF %DUE > '5' THEN DO

    ESPNOMSG TRIGGER STOPUTIL ADD USER1('CC140W01') USER2('CC140W01')

    ENDDO

    NT_JOB CC140W01

    RUN DAILY

    AGENT BCAPP601

    CMDNAME POWERSHELL.EXE

    ARGS
    BCAPP601\IS\ECMS\BR549W01.PS1

    ENDJOB

    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Johnathan,

    As Lucy has mentioned, there is a new Community for the Mainframe Workload Automation.  As such, I have taken the liberty to move this post to the CA Mainframe Workload Automation Community for you.

    Best Regards,
    Luu

    Thank you!  I have started following the correct community and will post to it from now on.  Dumb question, and let me know if this isn't the correct form, but how would one going about sending an email to the correct community from Outlook (please note that due to AD policy, I cannot use the Jive client).

    Thanks!

    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,

    I can help answer this for you here this time (I do recommend if you have general question about the Community that the The Water Cooler  would be the place to go)

    You can create new content via by emailing the space specific email address.  To get the email address, go to the Space you want --> Action --> Create via an email.

    Then select the what you want to create via email:

    It will send you an email, with the "email address" for your selected choice.  Going forward you can just send email using that Email address and it will create the content.

    Regards,
