CA Client Automation

  • 1.  The connection with the caf service was broken unexpectedly. ITCM 12.5

    Installed the agent on the pc and caf status shows the below message.

     

    C:\Windows\system32>caf start

    Starting caf service...

    Waiting for service to confirm startup...

    Connecting to caf process...

    CA DSM r12 Common Application Framework 12.5.1000.767

    Starting all DSM services...

    The connection with the caf service was broken unexpectedly.

    The caf service may have died.

    The command failed.

    Hi Ejcarg

      From error message, I understand this could be related to CAM issue, could you please verify recycling CAM services:

    From Command line

    - CAF stop

    - cam change disabled

    - camclose

    - Verify CAM.exe in windows task manager , if exists kill the same

    Now

    - Run: cam change auto

    - caf start

    If still this is a problem seen on multiple targets, I suggest  to raise a issue and upload dsminfo from one of the error target agent.

    Hi,

     

    Also make sure that cam.exe is added in the PATH section, it resides in C:\Program Files\CA\SC\CAM\bin.
