    Hi All,

What is the best way to insert in Timesheet Clarity Actuals such as vacation or sick time? I would like created the new Other Time called Vacation and Sick Time.

    That is one way.
    Some of the others are
    - vacation sick project (coporate level) similar to other work
    - input type code, would be indirect time which harder to report than posting on other work or project.
    - personal calendar exceptions, a nightmare to create and to maintain
    - not to enter time at all, eternal missing time and maybe even problems to forecast capacity accurately

the way I've seen it done nearly everywhere is to just create a non project time project.
Then create tasks for sickness etc...

you'd be able to track the time posted to these tasks and produce nice reports if you needed

The big problem is related to the availability resources portlets, because the resource manager dont' have the prospecte future related to all vacation resources.
In other work since resource insert the vacation only in timesheet ( actual) usually the resource manager thinks that the resource is available but in true it's in vacation time.

CA Clarity must think to implement some enhacements to manage this important aspect.

Clarity provides a number of ways of handling "non-project" time ; which method you choose is a key FUNCTIONAL decision in your implementation of Clarity and you need to understand the pros and cons of each method - don't look for a one-size-fits-all solution from the product as you will not find one!

The staff members can update their resource calendars in the system to mark their vacation as 'non-working day'. This information is included in their availability numbers and if utilizing effort driving schedules based on resource availaibility, the resource's available hours to work for that given point in time is reduced.
