The reason for my post is that want to install the vmware linux drivers...

    Regarding this manual...

    https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1022525

...there shoud be NOT mounted any .iso then i would be able to select a menu entry from VM window.

But this is not possible as long i'm not able to remove the debian 12.5 installer iso...

WORKAROUND: Select the VMware guest driver .iso file from C:\Program files\VMware\...

BUT: That can't be a really proper solution - right!?

    With best regards,
    Hans

One - wait until after you've finished installing the OS, and no longer need it's installation disc in the CD-ROM drive, before installing the VMware Tools.

Two - modern Linux OS's do NOT need the VMware Tools iso files - instead go to the standard repository and install the packages open-vm-tools andopen-vm-tools-desktop.

ok thx, but the question also can be a general thing if that problem happens again with other iso images

Hi, you have created 2 separate posts about Workstation Player in the Support Hub area of the forums.

The forum etiquette is to create posts in the area for the product you are using, there is an area for Workstation Player in the Workspace > Desktop Hypervisor area.

Please don't recreate these posts, I have reported them to the forum moderators asking them to move them for you.
