Regardess of the video card present in the host running Workstation, the virtual hardware for a virtual machines in VMware Workstation presents a virtual graphics adapter that does not support DX12. Only DX11 support is implemented by the virtual graphics adapter in the virtual machine.

It looks like DeepFaceLive has DX12 as a pre-requisite. That might present a problem.

    Hi,

From the specs I would go with a physical workstation or a laptop with Microsoft Windows installed on it. Simply for funny movies there is no need for VMware By Broadcom Workstation, Fusion and Player.

From the Artificial Intelligence Risk Management Framework perspective, be aware of privacy rights. Just because newspapers, tv, apps, etc. deliver a plethora of pictures of celebs, balancing interests and accountability in laws in every country are key factors. Just because deep face live is possible, it is not said, it is legal.

In addition, the source code of those software should be declared! Typically they use opencv, numpy, pyqt, onnxruntime, etc.

There's nothing wrong with showing expertise on what's technically possible by respecting the open-source/closed-source license, people's written permission, and showing how the electronic faceprint can be used for deep-face live purposes – and it can be fun too.

In fact, if you can show good practices by blogging, making a clear point of view why to use and how to configure Workstation, Fusion or Player, you will have for sure people who will share with you your passion about your proficiency.
