    Hi all,

I’ve subscribed to get a license key for VMware Fusion player. I would like to run it on Mac OS Catalina as I’ve a Mac book pro mid-2012 but the licence given to me is only for version 13. How to downgrade or obtain a licence key for version 11.5 ? I’m trying to access to menu “Manage Licence key” through my account but it doesn’t work. Error message is “sorry you don’t have access right …”Iis anyone can help me ?

    thanks!

VMware is no longer selling Fusion 11 or 12 licenses. You can't downgrade a Fusion 13 to Fusion 11 through the Customer Connect licensing portal. You may be able to get a downgrade if you contact VMware Sales to see if they can do something for you. (this forum is not an official VMware support forum).

Alternatively you *can* downgrade that Fusion 13 license to a Fusion 12 through the Customer Connect portal. Fusion 12.1.2 is the last version that supports Catalina, and a downgraded license will work on that release.

Did you purchase the license directly from VMware or are you working for a company/organization that gave you the license? If it's the latter, find out who gave you the license and ask them to contact VMware on your behalf.

    hi Technogeezer,

Thanks for your reply, ok noted for using of this forum but I have error message when I try to get some support on VMware website...

    ok noted for version 12.1.2

Regarding downgrade licence to v12, unfortunately I cannot have access to "Management Licence Key" on Customer Connect, please find below french msg I have (missing access rights). So, I cannot downgrade licence key...

FYI, it's a free licence for personal use I got when I've created an account on VMWare website.

    "Nous sommes désolés.

Votre compte ne dispose pas des autorisations nécessaires pour accéder à cette page. Si vous pensez qu'il s'agit d'une erreur, veuillez réessayer."

    Thanks.

If you have a personal use license, that’s a different situation.

There are no free license options for Fusion 11. Free personal use licenses were introduced in Fusion 12.

Personal use licenses also aren’t listed in the license management section of Customer Connect. And personal use licenses can’t be downlgraded. That’s likely why you are seeing the error

If you want to use a personal use license on Catalina, you will need to install Fusion 12.1.2 (the last version that supports Catalina) and register for a Fusion 12 Personal use License at https://customerconnect.vmware.com/en/evalcenter?p=fusion-player-personal

Thanks a lot for your answers.

Yes, I saw your post here where you've talked about licence key for version 12.

I've download v12.1.2, let me install and test with new licence key for this version.

When I'm trying to get a non technical support request :

    "Impossible de traiter votre demande

The content is unavailable. Contact information is also available at Support Phone Number."

    Impossible to treat your request...

I have my doubts that would solve the problem.  It's likely that the eval key with the program is a Fusion 13 key.

Plus it's $200 USD per year and the keys are eval keys that expire.
