Hi folks,

I use VMWare Fusion 13.5.2 on a MacBook Pro. I would like to export my virtual machine in something of the Open Virtualization Format, i.e. *.ova or *.ovf

Is that possible? If so, how?

Every help is appreciated.

Thank you,

If you are on an Intel Mac, see Fusion Help - that has instructions on how to import/export in OVA/OVF formats on Intel Macs.

If you are on an Apple Silicon Mac (M1,2, or 3), ova/ovf import/export is not supported.

Thank you very much, Technogeezer. Fortunately I do have an Intel Mac. Unfortunately I do not understand the help texts.

I understand thaat with the Pro-version you have two options; I have installed the free Player-version.

The other option is to export the virtual machine with a vTPM. I have no idea what a vTPM might be & I do not understand the texts on the VMWare internet site. It seems to be some special software. Besides, whenever I start VMWare Fusion (since spring) my MacBook starts to overheat so I have to minimize actions.  :-(  You have seen my plea for help as you have answered...

So I admit to be at a loss.

Thanks
