    Hello,

I have moved my Windows Server 2008 R2 (32-bit) SQL Server from my ESX 3.5 to my vShpere 5.1 Host without any problems.

After I updated the VMWare Tools the Windows Explorer does not start. I have to open the Task Manager and start the explorer.exe with administrator rights.

In the event log of windows is the Error: The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because a composited theme is not in use. Event-ID: 9003

I tried to upgrade the VM Hardware Komptability but the Windows Explorer does not start.

There are a couple of posts in the MS forums about this error message, maybe you can find some hints there. One of the hints was to start RDP sessions using mstsc /admin rather than just mstsc. Do you see this issue with RDP only or does it also occur when you open the VM's console in the vSphere Client.

    It's not a RDP Problem.

I also have the problem by logging in over the Console in the vSphere Client
