Will EVC mode block any Intel mitigations?

    I have a vSphere 8 U3 cluster in "Ice Lake" EVC mode. I did a capture of cpu flags from a Linux VM using "cat /proc/cpuinfo". The hypervisors have Gold 6342 which are "Ice Lake".

    I noticed that when I remove EVC and powerOFF/ON the Linux VM that the "cat /proc/cpuinfo" gives different flags and bugs listed. 

    Why is this? Are the newer BIOS for Ice Lake being blocked by the EVC? 

    Does this mean EVC is preventing the newer mitigations from working?
