So I'm looking at the port groups on a VDS and see that the lights next to the port groups are either green or white.  Most are green, but some are white even though the physical switches are up and the port group is functioning without issue.  Any thoughts?

Are some of your NICs set to standby instead of everything running Active/Active?

Are the VMs associated with those 'white port' powered on?

No VMs are associated, it is a Service Console port group.

What functions are running on these service console ports? I have always assumed that when the port is white there is no traffic either the in tha case of a VM it is down or that there is no traffic -

It was purely used for Management/ vCenter access.  I was connected to the vCenter console and not directly to the ESXi host so that shouldn't be an issue.
