Hey Broadcom Community,
Since there's no vCenter in place and the direct download link from the ESXi welcome page isn't responding, the safest way to get the correct installer for ESXi 5.3 or 5.5 is through Broadcom's official support portal (as VMware downloads are now hosted there). You'll need a registered account with the appropriate entitlement to access legacy vSphere Client installers, as public download repositories for older versions are no longer openly listed. Avoid third-party or random file-sharing sites, as they may contain modified or unsafe builds. If portal access isn't available, another practical option is enabling the ESXi Host Client (for 5.5 U2 and later) via browser, which removes the need for the old Windows vSphere Client altogether. Also, before making changes, ensure backups are in place since unplugging servers is not a sustainable solution. And just like finding hidden channels on tv garden, sometimes the right access path is there-you just need the correct official gateway to reach it securely.
Thanks and Best Regards!!

I know this post is a little old, but if you don't have the desktop client for v5.5, you can use VMware Workstation to connect to ESXi and manage VM's. Get them upgraded ASAP, and teach them proper IT procedures.

Subject: Where to ''Download vSphere Client''
Hi there,
I went to a new company and while I looked at their systems I found they run their systems on ESXi 5.3 and 5.5. My problems is that they don't have any vCenter (older or newer) nor have the vShpere client somewhere (on a computer or repository), so I can't access the VMs. When something hangs their solution is to unplug the server. When I type the address for the ESXi it enters the Welcome page. If I try to click on the links to download the client it goes nowhere.
Is there any repository or new site/link from Broadcom to get the older version?
Thanks in advance.
