    Many users in the community are getting the 'Account verification pending' message when attempting to download the free Fusion or Workstation products from the support portal. The message encourages users to try again later, but in almost all cases the verification doesn't seem to happen. The end result is that the products are unable to be downloaded.

    Thanks for the information, but all this is ridiculous. Just offer a link to download. No questions asked. As any other company do. All this is a lack of respect for potential customers.

    I have had a VMware Fusion account for many years and downloaded VMware Fusion whenever I wanted. As it should be.

    Then it was all destroyed by Broadcom purchase of VMware Fusion. Now it is impossible to download VMware Fusion from Broadcom. Even after following directions and wasting hours and hours trying for many months. Eventually I get the following after many months trying: Account verification is Pending. Please try after some time. Really, really, really frustrating. Because it never ever works. Fortunately there are competitors. You are losing big sales.

    Trouble is that their lawyers have determined that they need to ask those questions because  Broadcom is subject to export compliance. Could they do that better? Yes. They are not used to the idea of free software like VMware was. So they're trying to fit this new idea into their mindset with results that are frustrating us.
