  • 1.  What is iommu fault type 7?

    Got this error while running an ubuntu VM with an Intel UHD 630 passthrough device:

    Error message on VM on HOST.LOCAL in DATACENTER : VMware ESX unrecoverable error: (vmx) PCI passthru device 0000:00:02.0 caused an IOMMU fault type 7 at address 0xcd000. Powering off the virtual machine. If the problem persists please contact the device's vendor.

    What are the specifics of IOMMU Fault Type 7?

    I guess, this is an issue related to type of this GPU. Intel UHD 630 is an integrated GPU.
