web client: VM Remote console blank

Hi guys,

            I got a  problem with my web client remote console. I am using vCneter appliance  and web client daemon is running. I am using IE8 and Adobe flesh 11 is  installed.

Issue:

-Remote console status “The remote console is connecting..”

I waited for a day but still not connected

Vm remote console screen is just blank

-I checked in add-ons web client plug-in is enabled.

-checked VM dns resolution

-I also checked weather another RDP or remote session is active.(there was no RDP session active)

-I also checked in other posts but no one had this kind on issue

sorry to post web client thread here but I couldn't find specific forum for web client

any advice will be Appreciated

While troubleshooting following strange things i noticed in my host

-All the VMs in that port group can access VM remote console in web client

but if i try to access from other physical workstation it stuck at "The remote console is connecting..." status in my IE 8 browser

-I also tried to disable ESXi firewall using "esxcli network firewall set --enabled false" and also disabled my Workstation Firewall but Still same problem

I am accessing my host from LAN so there is no external firewall exist

i tried to connect my workstation directly to Host pNIC but still the same problem

I was really surprised when IE8 was working in VM's browser which VM's are connected to same vSwitch and port group but if i try to access it from my physical workstation the screen remains blank

I am suspecting that the IE8 settings in your workstation might have some internet settings/ ssl authentication disabled or your firewall blocking the auth request from the vmrc

Firewall is disibled in workstation as well as in ESXi server...

I checked SSL also its not an issue...

and this problem is in all physical Workstation not just one. only VMs which are in same vSwitch and portgroup are able to use vm remote console using web client by IE8

Hi

I was having the same problem with IE, Worked fine in FireFox but not IE

To fix the problem in IE

I added https://vCenterName into Trusted Sites in IE Internet Options, Security, Trusted Sites

It sorted it for me.
