  • 1.  Watching REST API traffic at the VCSA

    How can I see the REST API requests and responses at my VCSA?  Is there a log file?  I haven't found one.

     

    I'm asking because I have playbooks that fail from time to time because the VCSA can't or won't give them an inventory or because the VCSA says they are UNAUTHORIZED.  I'm certain that neither condition is true because I can run the playbooks again the same way and they will work.

    I have a VMUG Advantage license.

    It seems that I get the UNAUTHORIZED when my VCSA is using a lot of memory.  It becomes unresponsive by about 90% memory utilization.  Time to search for/start another thread!

    The answer I discovered is to get shell access on the VCSA and examine /var/log/vmware/vapi/endpoint/endpoint-access.log
