All input welcome.
I know this is constantly hashed out on whether virtualizing VoIP is prudent. Here is our proposed environment:
vSphere 5 Cluster
Hosts: Dell R710's, 96GB RAM, 2xQuad core Processors
Storage: EMC VNXe 3300, performance pools
VoIP: FreeSwitch 1.0.6, CentOS 5.5 kernel 2.6.18-194.8.1.el5
What are the best optimization settings in the host and gust to gain the best possible outcomes for a performance test in comparing an existing physical node to a candidate virtualized node?
Memory, processor affinity, shares, etc....
I see much about the 1khz timer and adding it to the kernel. What process is preferred in achieving this?
Again, I welcome all input.
Thank you,
Brian
