    Hi all,

    Quick question:

We have hosts with 4 physical nics.

vmnic1 and vmnic0 are teamed to form vSwitch0, and handle the vmotion and management port.

The other 2 physical nics are teamed to form vSwitch1, which handles 4 different vm port groups....

If i am wanting to add another port for storage, which vswitch would it be best practice to attach it to?

    Thanks.

it depends on how many VMs you have and what is the network usage of those VMs..

you also have to monitor how many times DRS or vMotion workload happens..

if VM generates more network traffic, and vMotion or DRS workload is less then you should connect new port with vswithc0...

check out vmware network best practice, there is a specific scenario explained in detail

As per my View use the v switch 0, because its being used only for VMotion trafic & Console.

you can also configure the VM kernal port group on both vswitch & share the load.
