vSphere Web Console goes black with a spinning wheel

    Running vSphere Client version 7.0.2.00200

After N web console login attempts, my Linux VMs ( RHEL 7 and 8 ) will suddenly get a black screen with a spinning wheel and never come on up.

The Windows 2016 VM always works. The Ubuntu works as it's not a graphical console.  I have experienced this on Chrome, IE and Edge. Although Edge seems to work the longest before getting the behavior.  The only way I seem to get it to work again, is to reboot the VM, which isn't a real solution.  Is this VMWare tools related?

Running these versions version:10277 (Guest Managed)  and version:11269 (Guest Managed)

All networking checks out and again, this works for several console login sessions and then just doesn't anymore?  I did notice on some attempts, it may have been due to the fact I had another console web page session up already, but that isn't always the case.

    Any ideas are appreciated!  Thanks!

Were you ever able to determine a fix for this?  We are running into a similar issue and its random.. only with Linux machines.  And a reboot so far is the only fix for it.

    Hello,

We are faced with the same problem, have you solved it?

Can you still SSH onto the VM?

If so have you tried just restarting vmware-tools with something like "sudo /etc/init.d/vmware-tools restart" or "systemctl restart vmtoolsd" instead of restarting the VM?

Have you tried closing and reopening the web console? still have the same issue?

Is your VM accessible in the network during this issue?

We've tried with other browsers and it's the same problem, we've also tried to connect via IP address to vsphere and the VMs and the problem is also the same.
I think the problem comes from the cluster because we've migrated the VMs to a new cluster.

Has anyone had a resolution to this?  I have been experiencing this for a while now myself.  May be a different problem, as it seems like my VCenter starts to begin to stop responding to several different processes when this behavior begins to happen.  We can't open the VM using the Web browser or the Remote Console.  Tasks do not seem to progress and get stuck at 17% (VMotion) and then fail.

Seems the only thing that corrects the issue for us is to reboot VCenter and it runs well for 4-5 days before we start seeing the same issues begin to occur.

    vSphere Client version 7.0.3.01400

    Hello,

You got the solution for this problem? If so, could you share with me? I'm facing a similar issue.
