  • 1.  vSAN 7 and vCenter 8

We have a 2-node vSAN 7 cluster that is currently managed by vCenter 7. I am planning to upgrade vCenter to version 8, which means the vSAN 7 cluster will be managed by vCenter 8.
Is there any issue with managing a vSAN 7 cluster using vCenter 8?
Eventually, I plan to upgrade the vSAN as well, but that might take a couple of months.

This is supported to manage down to vSphere 7 from vCenter 8, needs to be for upgrade purposes.
If you do this you will be prepared for the next 8 update release as well.
If you want any confirmation please review the interoperability matrix.

You have until October 2nd to be off ESX 7.x as that is the end of support date.

I've been running vCenter 8 while managing multiple vSAN 7 clusters without any issues.
Like Nathan said - you've got enough time to upgrade the vSAN cluster and ESXi hosts to 8 before October.
