vpxd log error messages - login failure question

Services won't start up.   I'm trying to move my database (from localhost/sql express) to a sql server.  I moved the database over and am getting a "Login failure" messages.

I moved the database and updated the DSN.  I'm not sure if I need to move the "RSA" database too?  But the real question is - what login ID is it trying to use?  I used vpxd.exe -p to reset the password, but that did not help.  ALthough I'm not sure what user name it is using and I need to set up?

I followed everything in here:

But it still did not work.  I finally changed the virtualcenter service to start with domain\administrator which I was using to connect using odbc (pass through authentication) and this domain user had dbo access to the database.  It then worked.

My question was - I see some posts that say to change to LocalSystem to fix this problem, but in my cast it was the opposite. 

When using LocalSystem for the service - why did it not work? 

I want to understand this process - what credentials would the service use if using LocalSystem? 

Is LocalSystem unable to pass the windows credentials across to a remote SQL server?

Is your sql server configured to use mixed mode authentication(sa/<password>) or is it purely windows based auth?

I am doing a scripted install and find the exact same issue

I am using windows auth

I have to change to use admin account and it starts fine , as local system account i get the error above -- this is only during a scripted install , if i install manually or use the bundled DB then it works fine

Any ideas ?
