VMware Virtual Appliances and telegraf agent

Hi All

Can I install Aria Operation Manager telegraf agent on VMware Virtual Appliances appliance or it is not supported. 

There is KB => https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2090839 and base on that it is not supported but would like to know your experience on that topic.

Was never able to complete the use-case hence not sure if this comes under customizing the os.

Did anyone do this? Now we are moving VRA on-premise and a sister company does not use Operations for Logs. I cant see any other SUPPORTED way of monitoring VRA? Operarations doesnt monitor the Automation infrastructure at all
