  • 1.  VMWare Tools - URL to download from vCenter?

    Posted Mar 28, 2015 08:01 PM

Hi all. I'm automating my linux installs and I'm wondering if there is a URL which can be accessed from the client during the install which will be able to download the current version of the vmware tools my systems are using. I know I can easily create another repository but if i'm already downloading with update manager the latest version, I just don't want to keep two repositories up to date.

If anyone has this info, it would be greatly appreciated.

I hope this was the proper forum to post this.

    Thanks

Please find useful information @ Operating System Specific Packages Home Page | United States

You can also download based on ESXi/ESX version from below link:

    Index of /45848/tools

Coming back to your question of automation:

There is repository on each ESXi server for all the supports Operating systems under /usr/lib/vmware/isoimages/

Also use the check box (shown in image) to upgrade tools automatically at power cycle.
